About Artscape

Artscape is an infinite field of public-domain art. Every work is placed beside the pieces it most resembles — measured by a neural image embedding, not by tags — and each tile is feathered into its neighbours, so panning across the field is a continuous drift through colour, subject and century rather than a scroll through a grid.

Nothing is generated. Every image is a real work from a museum's open-access collection, reproduced as the museum published it. What Artscape adds is the arrangement: which piece sits next to which, and how they blend. You can search it, filter it, wander it, and snip any region into a single composite of your own.

Artscape caches a copy of each image for performance; every piece links back to its record at the museum, which remains the authoritative source for rights and provenance. Nothing here is offered for sale, and no attempt is made to assert rights over any work.

Corrections

If a work is misattributed, or you believe an image is not in fact free to reproduce, please write and it will be removed promptly — no argument. Open an issue on the project repository, or contact the site owner directly.

Privacy

Artscape has no accounts, no cookies, and no analytics. Your collection and your last view are kept in your own browser's local storage and are never transmitted. Shared links carry their view in the URL itself — there is no database of them.
